Before Your First Play

The magnetic word tiles need to be separated, which can take a few minutes. If you have a large group of players, your group will be able to quickly tear apart the sheets. If you have a smaller group, you may consider tearing apart the sheets ahead of time. Place all the now-separated tiles in the Poetic Injustice box.

How To Play

Poetic Injustice is a word game where players piece together funny poems from limited word banks. Each round, all players make a poem in response to a shared prompt and all players vote for their favorite poem. After 10 rounds, the player with the most votes wins.

Setup

Each player needs one metal board, 10 voting tokens, and 80-100 random word tiles placed face up in front of them.

Use this website to access the game’s prompts. The full list of prompts can be downloaded by clicking DOWNLOAD PROMPTS.

Gameplay

Click START to display the first prompt. You can use the 90-second round timer or play without it. All players create a unique poem in response to the prompt using word tiles. When everyone is finished, players read their poems aloud.

Voting

After reading all poems, each player votes for their favorite (not their own) using a token. Only one vote per player per round.

New Round

After voting, discard used tiles and draw new ones to have 80–100 tiles. Then, click NEXT PROMPT to continue.

Winning

After 10 rounds, the player with the most tokens wins. In case of a tie, those players face off in a bonus round!
