The magnetic word tiles need to be separated, which can take a few minutes. If you have a large group of players, your group will be able to quickly tear apart the sheets. If you have a smaller group, you may consider tearing apart the sheets ahead of time. Place all the now-separated tiles in the Poetic Injustice box.
Poetic Injustice is a word game where players piece together funny poems from limited word banks. Each round, all players make a poem in response to a shared prompt and all players vote for their favorite poem. After 10 rounds, the player with the most votes wins.
Each player needs one metal board, 10 voting tokens, and 80-100 random word tiles placed face up in front of them.
Use this website to access the game’s prompts by clicking START. Then, choose if you want to include adult prompts or to keep things kid-friendly. The full list of prompts can be downloaded by clicking DOWNLOAD PROMPTS.
With a phone placed in a central location, click START to display the first prompt. You can use the 90 second round timer or play without it. All players create a unique poem in response to the prompt by placing tiles from their word banks on their metal boards and unleashing their creativity and sense of humor. When everyone is finished creating their poems or time runs out, players read their poems to each other.
After all poems have been read, each player votes on his or her favorite poem by giving a voting token to the person who composed it. All players must vote, players cannot vote for their own poem, and no player can vote for more than one poem per prompt.
After voting, all players discard their used tiles. All players then replenish their word banks by drawing a pinch of brand-new tiles from the game box. Players should have 80-100 tiles after drawing replacements. When everyone is ready to respond to the next prompt, click NEXT PROMPT to start the next round.
The game ends after 10 rounds, and the player who has earned the most voting tokens wins! Ties can be decided with an 11th round where only the tied players create poems, and all other players vote.
